Bolton School Vintage Fair

Vibrant Vintage have found a new venue perfect for a vintage and retro fair.  The fair will take place on Sunday 19th May from 10am – 4pm at Bolton School in the arts centre.  For those of you outside of Bolton, Bolton School is an impressive private school established in 1516 for boys and 1877 for girls.  Our fair will take place in Bolton Schools purpose built arts centre.

Our fair has over 30 stalls selling vintage clothing, accessories, collectables, homewear, furniture, vintage inspired clothing, retro craft such as aprons and cushions, sweets, cupcakes and chocolate.  We also have a retro pop up hair salon.  There will be live entertainment from the fabulous singer Bexi Owen.  Admission is 1pound

The school is currently undergoing building work so you can not turn into the main part of the school.  To access the fair you must turn onto Dobson Rod (this is between Bolton School and the primary school).  Once onto Dobson Road turn first right into the school (there is a gate), then park your car and head straight down and the arts centre is sign posted.

Our shop so far

The Vibrant Vintage shop has been open for nearly 2 months and I can honestly say I do not know where the time has gone.  The shop is looking very full now and I can’t believe that we had been storing all these clothes in our garage in between fairs!

023 (640x480)

A few weeks ago we had our signs put over the shop.  We opted for a sign over each of our windows and then our logo over the door.

027 (640x480)

In the main room we have ordered the vintage clothing into decades, while our maxi dresses are near the window.  We have clothes from the 1940’s – 1980’s and accessories from 1920’s.  If you can’t find what you are looking for just ask as we may have something in our stockroom.

031 (480x640)

We have two dressers, one art deco and the other shabby chic with lots of lovely vintage dressing table sets to manicure sets to retro clothes hangers.  We also have furniture, a large suitcase full of scarfs and a shabby chic hat stand.

026 (480x640)

Then we have a lovely art deco ladies wardrove full of fur and faux fur coats.  On top of this wardrobe we have some fabuolous suitcases, hat boxes and delicate Victorian hats (all for display i’m afraid)

Our next room we have used as the retro and collectable room.  This rrom isn’t quite finished as we want wallpaper on one wall, to stock some retro dresses in sizes 8-22 and buy a unit to display all of our lovely china.  We hope to have this room finished in the next month

In our final room we have created an intimate space for men, with a collection of harris tweed jackets, hats, scarfs and collectables.

The shop is open Tuesday – Saturday 9am-5pm.  However, we will be organising after work and Sunday events in the shop where you can learn to knit or have a make up class.  Keep posted for more information.  If you are passing Westhoughton, pop in to say hello.
